La carte
Iati Map Poster & Print
Iati lies in the agreste of Pernambuco, the transition zone between the greener coastal strip and the drier sertão further inland. The town is small and compact. On the map it appears as a short grid of streets around a central area, surrounded by rural land crossed by country roads and tracks.
Like many towns in this region, Iati is closely tied to farming and livestock, and its layout reflects that: a clear urban core that ends quickly and gives way to plots and pasture. Small reservoirs and seasonal watercourses in the area often show up as irregular shapes on maps, since water storage matters a great deal in this climate.
An Iati map poster keeps the design clean. The streets of the town are drawn precisely, with the open countryside left as calm white space around them. It is a personal piece for anyone who calls this corner of Pernambuco home.
