Atlantic shoreline
A long, almost straight beach runs the full length of the town. On the poster it forms a strong clean edge where the dense street grid stops at the open sea.

La carte
Imbé Map Poster & Print
Imbé lies on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, on a narrow strip of flat, sandy land between the Atlantic Ocean and a system of coastal lagoons. It is mainly a beach town. Its population rises sharply in summer, and much of the housing consists of holiday homes set in a long, regular grid parallel to the shore.
The town faces Tramandaí across the channel where the lagoon system opens to the sea, and a bridge links the two. This channel mouth is known for an unusual cooperation: local fishermen and bottlenose dolphins work together to catch mullet, with the dolphins signalling to the men with nets.
An Imbé map poster makes the geography very clear. A long, straight coastline runs along one side, a grid of beach streets fills the middle, and the lagoon waters wrap around the inland edge. The shape is spare and horizontal, and it works well in a minimal print.

Lagoon channel
The channel between the lagoons and the ocean separates Imbé from Tramandaí. It is where fishermen and dolphins are known to fish together, and the bridge across it joins the towns.
Beach street grid
Holiday neighbourhoods are laid out in long, regular blocks running parallel to the shore. This repeating pattern gives the map a calm, orderly texture.

Pourquoi Imbé
Une carte qui a du sens
Imbé is a place of summers: family trips to the beach, a rented house a few blocks from the sand, evenings by the channel. A map of it keeps those seasons on the wall all year round.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the summer you first went or the name of a family house. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
