Even town plan
Much of the town follows a rectilinear pattern, with blocks of similar size that give the centre an even, almost woven texture on the map.

La carte
Irecê Map Poster & Print
Irecê lies in north-central Bahia, on a broad plateau in the semi-arid interior of northeastern Brazil, north of the Chapada Diamantina. The land around it is flat and largely given over to agriculture, so on a map the town appears as a clear block of streets surrounded by rectangular fields and straight rural roads.
The town is the main centre of its micro-region and is known in Bahia for farming, especially beans, which earned it a reputation as a regional bean capital. It serves a large surrounding area with commerce, schools and health services, and its layout reflects steady growth outward from a central core.
An Irecê map poster suits the town's even, open geometry. The dense centre gives way to looser outer districts, and beyond them the pattern of fields and roads continues almost to the edges of the print. The result is orderly and quiet, a map about land and farming as much as about streets.

Plateau farmland
Around the town the flat plateau is divided into fields and crossed by long straight tracks, a landscape that reads clearly in fine black lines.
Roads to the sertão
Highways leave the town in several directions across the semi-arid interior, linking it to smaller municipalities that rely on it as their regional centre.
