Rio de Contas mouth
The river meets the Atlantic right beside the town. Its broad estuary and sandbanks form one of the strongest shapes on the map.

Itacaré Map Poster & Print
Itacaré lies on the southern coast of Bahia, on the stretch known as the Costa do Cacau. The town sits where the Rio de Contas reaches the Atlantic. On a map its streets fill a small peninsula between the river mouth and the sea, with the waterfront curving along the estuary and short lanes leading down to the first beaches.
South of town, the coast breaks into a series of small coves separated by rocky, forested headlands. Several of these beaches are reached by footpaths rather than roads, so the map shows green, empty stretches between each patch of sand. The coastal road to Ilhéus runs inland of them, and the area is known for its surf and remaining Atlantic Forest.
An Itacaré map poster balances three elements: the river, the ocean and the small town between them. The irregular coastline gives the design a strong, lively edge, and the wide estuary adds a second body of water. In the lighter styles the result feels like a coastal chart, which suits a place that people often remember for its beaches and waves.

Chain of coves
South of town, small beaches sit between wooded headlands. The coastline breaks into a rhythmic series of curves that is especially clear at a close framing.
Peninsula town
Itacaré's compact streets occupy a small point of land between the river and the sea. The dense core contrasts with the open water on two sides.

Pourquoi Itacaré
Une carte qui a du sens
Itacaré is a place people fall for on a trip and remember for years. A map of the river mouth and the coves keeps that memory in a quiet, graphic form.
Add the name of a beach or the dates of your stay in the subtitle, and keep the coordinates line. Sand and Blueprint work well for coastal maps. Buy the HD files for home printing or order a printed poster.
