Jimo Map Poster
Jimo is a district of Qingdao in Shandong province, north of the city's main urban area and not far from the Yellow Sea coast. It was a county seat for many centuries before becoming part of the growing metropolis. On a map, a compact older core is set within the wide, orderly blocks of the newer districts that now surround it.
Jimo is known in China for its traditional yellow rice wine, often called Jimo laojiu, and for its long history as a local administrative and trading centre. Wide modern avenues divide the district into large blocks, and farmland and hills lie beyond the built-up edge.
