La carte
Kalisz Map Poster & Print
Kalisz grew up where the Prosna breaks into several arms, and the map still shows it. Narrow channels thread through the centre and wrap around the old town, so streets have to bend and cross short bridges to get anywhere. Past the river, the grid loosens into residential blocks and then into the flat farmland of Greater Poland.
Kalisz is often called the oldest town in Poland. The claim rests on a place named Calisia in Ptolemy's second-century geography, which many historians link to this site. The medieval core keeps its market square and a tight block pattern. On a Kalisz map poster that small, dense centre stands out clearly against the looser streets built later around it.
A long green belt follows the river through the middle of the city. It shows up as a soft, open band between built-up districts. The rail line and the main roads leading out towards Poznań, Łódź and Wrocław radiate from the centre and give the composition its outward pull.

Pourquoi Kalisz
Une carte qui a du sens
Kalisz suits people who like a place with a long past and a quiet, readable plan. The river channels draw a pattern that feels almost hand-drawn, and it holds up well on a wall, whether you grew up here or once studied in the city.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name or the year you moved. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
