Kangding Map Poster & Print
Kangding, known in Tibetan as Dartsedo, is the seat of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in western Sichuan. It sits at around 2,500 metres in a deep valley where mountain rivers meet, and the town has had little choice but to grow in one direction. It follows the water in a thin band of streets, hemmed in by steep slopes on either side.
For centuries this was a gateway between the Sichuan lowlands and the Tibetan highlands, a trading post on the routes that carried tea west into Tibet. The town is also known across China for the Kangding Love Song, a folk melody tied to Paoma Mountain, which rises directly above the streets.
A Kangding map poster captures that confined geography with unusual clarity: a river line down the centre, streets packed tightly beside it and large empty areas where the mountains stand. The result is an elegant, almost linear composition, and a fitting keepsake for travellers heading onward toward the plateau.

Paoma Mountain
The slopes directly above the town appear as blank space broken by a few winding paths, a reminder of the mountain made famous by the Kangding Love Song.
Gorge-shaped layout
With little flat ground available, the town stretches along the valley instead of spreading outward. The result is a long, narrow footprint that fills a portrait frame naturally.

Pourquoi Kangding
Une carte qui a du sens
Kangding is often a turning point on a journey, the last town before the high passes and grasslands of western Sichuan. A map of it marks that threshold, and the narrow valley makes a striking vertical print.
Add a title such as the town's Tibetan name, a date from your trip or a line of your own in the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates if you wish. Paper and Sand give the mountains a warm tone, while Noir and Blueprint turn the gorge into sharp line work. Classic black & white is always available.
