The Tapi River
The wide river curves past the town and dominates the composition. Its broad channel and soft banks form the strongest shape on the map.

Kāthor Map Poster & Print
Kathor lies on the Tapi River in the Surat district of Gujarat, upstream from the city of Surat. On a map the river is the defining feature. It sweeps past the town in a broad channel, and the built-up area gathers along its bank, with streets leading away from the water into the surrounding fields.
The layout of the town is compact and informal. Narrow lanes run between closely set houses near the river, and a few main roads carry traffic out toward Surat and the neighbouring villages. Beyond them, the flat land of south Gujarat is divided into agricultural plots, and the river's floodplain shows as open ground along the banks.
A Kathor map poster brings together the curve of a major river and the tight pattern of an old riverside settlement. It is a simple, balanced composition. Water fills one side, the town fills the other, and fields surround both. It is a meaningful print for families from Kathor, including the many who now live elsewhere in India and abroad.

Riverside lanes
Close to the water, streets become narrow and dense, following the older pattern of the settlement. This is where the print shows the most detail.
Farmland plain
Around the town, the flat land is divided into fields by paths and roads. It forms a quiet, even background for the river and the town.

Pourquoi Kāthor
Une carte qui a du sens
Many families trace their roots to Kathor and the villages around it, even after moving far away. This map keeps the exact shape of the town and its riverbank on the wall, a reminder of home that needs no explanation.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a date. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint brings out the river beautifully.
