Kuantan River mouth
The river widens as it meets the sea. Its estuary, with channels and banks, is the natural focus of the map, close to the town centre.

Kuantan Map Poster & Print
Kuantan, the capital of Pahang, sits where the Kuantan River reaches the South China Sea on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The town centre lies on the southern bank near the river mouth and has a compact grid of shophouse streets. Newer suburbs spread inland and along the coast in looser, curving layouts separated by patches of green.
The coastline is one of the city's defining features. Teluk Cempedak, a beach between rocky headlands, is a short drive from the centre, and the Sultan Ahmad Shah State Mosque is a major landmark in town. Kuantan is often described as the largest city on the east coast of the peninsula, and it is an important port for the region.
A Kuantan map poster brings three elements into one frame: the open sea to the east, the winding river and its estuary, and the grid of the old town between them. The mangrove-lined channels and the curve of the coast add a texture that sets it apart from the inland cities of the peninsula.

Teluk Cempedak
The bay east of the centre is a short curve of sand between headlands. It forms a crisp shape on the coastline that locals and visitors know well.
Old town grid
Near the river, the original commercial streets form a compact grid of short blocks, in contrast to the winding roads of the newer residential areas.
