Laohekou Map Poster & Print
Laohekou lies on the Han River in northwestern Hubei, upstream from Xiangyang, and the river is the backbone of its map. The city stretches along the east bank, with the broad water forming a long, clean edge on one side and the street network filling the flat land behind it. Islands and sandbars in the river add soft shapes to the channel.
The name means old river mouth, and for centuries the town was an important trading port on the Han, where goods moved between the interior and the Yangtze system. That river-facing history still shows in the way the older streets run parallel to and down toward the water, while newer districts spread inland on a more regular plan.
A Laohekou map poster is essentially a portrait of a city and its river. The Han takes up a large share of the composition, bridges link the two banks with sharp straight lines, and farmland on the far side gives the western part of the frame an open, calm character that balances the density of the town.

Riverside core
The older part of town sits close to the water, where the street pattern is tighter and oriented toward the bank that made the port prosperous.
Bridge crossings
Bridges over the Han appear as crisp straight lines tying the city to the opposite bank, giving the composition strong horizontal accents.
