Main road and railway
The route between Malang and Surabaya runs through the centre with the railway beside it. Together they form a strong spine for the whole poster.

La carte
Lawang Map Poster & Print
Lawang lies in East Java, north of Malang, on the main route that links the highlands to Surabaya and the coast. On a map, the town is stretched along that road and railway. Most streets branch off the main axis, and neighbourhoods fill the land on either side as it rises toward the mountains.
To the west the ground climbs toward the slopes of Mount Arjuno. The linework loosens there into plantations, villages and narrow roads that follow the terrain. The higher, cooler land has been farmed for a long time, and the Wonosari tea estate on those slopes is one of the area's best-known sights.
A Lawang map poster shows a town defined by passage and altitude: a line of travel through the middle, and green slopes rising behind it. The composition is long and directional, and it looks especially good in portrait format.

Mountain slopes
West of town the land rises toward Mount Arjuno. Streets give way to scattered villages and curving roads that follow the contours.
Tea estate terrain
Higher up, plantation land replaces the dense street pattern. It fills the map with open, orderly areas quite different from the town below.
