Valley-floor town
The built-up area fills a narrow strip of flat ground, giving the map an elongated, contained shape that clearly reflects the surrounding terrain.

Liancheng Map Poster & Print
Liancheng lies in the hills of western Fujian, in a landscape of narrow valleys, terraced fields and forested ridges. The county town occupies a stretch of valley floor, so from above its streets compress into a band along the river, with newer districts spreading wherever the ground allows and mountain roads winding away in several directions.
The area is part of the Hakka heartland, and the countryside around it holds old villages with ancestral halls and courtyard houses. Close to town is Guanzhishan, a scenic area of red sandstone cliffs and peaks typical of Danxia landforms. Liancheng is also known across China for a local speciality of dried sweet potato.
A Liancheng map poster balances the density of a working county town with the pressure of the hills around it. Roads bend to follow valleys, blocks squeeze into the flat land that is available, and the river provides a calm line through the middle. The result is a quietly compelling plan of a place shaped above all by topography.

River through the centre
A river runs through the town, a soft curving line that organises streets on both banks and ties the composition together.
Roads into the hills
Beyond the edges, roads twist into the mountains towards villages and scenic areas, thin lines that hint at the rugged landscape of western Fujian.

Pourquoi Liancheng
Une carte qui a du sens
For Hakka families and for anyone with roots in Longyan's countryside, a map of Liancheng is a link to origins. It suits homes far from Fujian, where a familiar valley and river can hold a lot of meaning.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates, adding a family name or the year of a visit. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the HD files for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
