La carte
Liji Map Poster & Print
Liji is a town in northern Jiangsu province, on the wide, flat plain that stretches across this part of eastern China. From above, the town appears as a compact grid of streets surrounded by farmland, with rural roads and small canals dividing the fields into long rectangles. Villages lie scattered across the landscape, connected by straight lanes.
Like many towns in the region, Liji combines an older core of narrow streets with newer blocks built along the main roads. Rivers and irrigation channels run across the plain, forming quiet lines between the fields. The flatness of the land means the street pattern is regular and open, without the twists caused by hills or coastlines.
A Liji map poster brings out this geometry, with the town's streets set in the middle of a wide patchwork of fields and waterways. The calm, even texture makes the image well suited to a minimalist style. It is a personal map for people from this part of Jiangsu, wherever they now live.

Field patchwork
Farmland divided into long rectangular plots covers the plain around the town, creating a fine geometric pattern that fills much of the frame.
Waterways
Small rivers and irrigation canals cross the flat landscape, adding thin flowing lines that contrast with the straight roads and field boundaries.
