Valley streets
The main roads follow the low ground between the hills. This gives the town an elongated, winding shape.

La carte
Longtan Map Poster & Print
Longtan lies in the hill country of Chongqing municipality, where very little of the land is flat. From above, the built-up area follows the valleys. Streets run along the lower ground and wind up the slopes, and the edges of the town give way to terraced fields and wooded hills.
In this part of Chongqing, the landscape shapes almost everything. Roads take long bends to gain height, and buildings cluster wherever the ground allows. The result is a town that looks drawn by the terrain rather than planned on a grid.
A Longtan map poster shows those constraints clearly. The street network is narrow and elongated and the curves are tight, with farmland wrapping around the town. It is a restless, organic composition. It works especially well in the Noir or Blueprint styles, where the line work becomes the whole picture.
