Alborz foothills
The mountains rise directly north of the town, so the streets end against open slopes. This gives the map a sense of height along its upper edge.

Mahdishahr Map Poster & Print
Mahdishahr, formerly known as Sangsar, is a town in Semnan Province in northern Iran. It lies just north of the city of Semnan, at the foot of the Alborz mountains. Its setting is a meeting of two landscapes: behind it the land rises into the mountains, and to the south it opens toward dry plains at the edge of the desert.
The town has a distinctive local identity. Its people, the Sangsari, have their own language and a long tradition of seasonal herding, moving flocks between mountain and lowland pastures. Gardens and orchards around the built-up streets add a fine, subdivided texture to the map.
A Mahdishahr map poster shows a compact town within its gardens, with roads leading south toward Semnan and north into the valleys of the Alborz. The contrast between cultivated plots, dense streets and the open ground around them gives the composition a clear, gentle structure.

Gardens and orchards
Cultivated plots around the town create a finely divided pattern of small parcels. They soften the change from streets to open ground.
Road to Semnan
The main road south links the town to the provincial capital. It is a strong line leading from the foothills down toward the plain.
