North coast
The Guadalcanal shoreline runs across the map, providing a strong natural edge where the land meets the waters that separate it from the Florida Islands to the north.

La carte
Malango Map Poster & Print
Malango lies on the northern side of Guadalcanal, the largest island of the Solomon Islands, a short distance east of the capital, Honiara. The area covers part of the coastal plain along this shore, with settlements and gardens spread across low land between the sea and the hills that rise towards the island's mountainous interior.
The plains of northern Guadalcanal are well known as the scene of heavy fighting during the Second World War, when the campaign for the island lasted from 1942 into 1943. Today the area forms part of the corridor around Honiara, with roads, villages and farmland linking it to the capital and to the rest of the coast.
A Malango map poster presents a place of coast, plain and hill. The shoreline gives the print its clearest edge, roads trace the routes between settlements, and rivers and streams run down from the higher ground to the sea. It is a quiet, open map, true to a landscape shaped more by land than by building.

Coastal plain
Flat land between the sea and the hills holds most of the area's settlements and gardens, joined by roads that follow the general line of the coast.
Rivers to the sea
Streams and rivers descend from the inland hills and cross the plain to the shore, adding winding lines between the straighter tracks of the roads.
