Olona valley
The Olona runs through a wooded valley on the edge of town. It forms a natural corridor that separates districts and gives the map a strong, soft diagonal.

La carte
Malnate Map Poster & Print
Malnate lies just outside Varese in northern Lombardy, in the rolling pre-Alpine country between the lakes and the Swiss border. The town is spread across uneven ground. It has an older centre, later neighbourhoods reaching up the slopes, and wooded areas that show as open space between clusters of streets.
The Olona River shapes the southern part of the map. Its valley forms a green corridor that the built-up area steps around rather than across. The valley also carried the old Valmorea railway line, whose route toward Switzerland can still be traced in the landscape.
A Malnate map poster captures a typical feature of this corner of Italy: the town and the countryside are woven together. On paper the roads curve with the hills and the river valley breaks up the grid. The result is a finely detailed, balanced map.

Hillside streets
The ground is uneven, so the roads bend and fork as they climb. Instead of regular blocks, the town reads as a loose network of irregular shapes.
Close to Varese
Roads from Malnate lead toward Varese and the surrounding towns. They show how the town sits inside a wider, closely linked landscape of lakes and hills.

Pourquoi Malnate
Une carte qui a du sens
Malnate is a good choice for residents, people who have moved away, or anyone who knows the Varese hills well. It could mark the street of a first home or the town where a family started. Add your own title, a date in the subtitle and the coordinates line to make it yours.
Paper and Sand bring out the hills and the river valley softly. Noir and Classic black & white give a sharper look, and Blueprint gives a technical one. Digital files cost $9 and come in six sizes, and printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
