La carte
Miyang Map Poster & Print
Miyang is the urban centre of Mile, a county-level city in the Honghe Prefecture of southern Yunnan. It lies in a highland basin surrounded by low hills, a type of landscape common across the Yunnan plateau. The flat valley floor is densely farmed, and roads climb the slopes around it.
The town has expanded considerably in recent years. Its map shows a clear division between an older core of narrower streets and newer districts laid out with wide boulevards and large blocks. Within China, Mile is known for its mild climate and for the vineyards and hot springs in the surrounding area.
A Miyang map poster sets the dense streets of the town against the softer shapes of the basin. It shows waterways on the valley floor, fields divided into small parcels, and roads that follow the land as they rise into the hills. The mix of planned grid and natural relief gives the image depth, even in plain black and white.

New boulevards
Recent districts are organised around wide avenues and large, regular blocks, in visible contrast to the tighter streets of the older centre.
Surrounding hills
Low hills ring the basin, and winding roads following the slopes give the edges of the map an irregular, natural line.
