Nablus Map Poster & Print
Nablus lies in a valley in the northern West Bank, squeezed between Mount Ebal to the north and Mount Gerizim to the south. The city stretches east to west along the valley floor and climbs the lower slopes on both sides. From above, it looks like a long band of streets pressed between two blank masses of hillside, which gives the map an unusually strong shape.
The city was refounded by the Romans in 72 CE as Flavia Neapolis, the source of its present name. Its old city of covered markets, mosques, bathhouses and stone lanes is one of the most complete in the region. Nablus is known for its olive-oil soap and for kunafa, and a small Samaritan community lives on Mount Gerizim.
A Nablus map poster shows the fine, irregular grain of the old city at the centre, newer neighbourhoods spreading along the valley and streets curving up the mountainsides. Few cities show their topography so clearly through street patterns alone, and the layout stays recognisable even at a glance.

Ebal and Gerizim
The two mountains frame the city to the north and south. Their slopes appear as open space broken by winding roads, clearly marking the edges of the valley.
Valley axis
The main roads run lengthwise through the valley, tying the eastern and western districts together and giving the city its elongated outline.
