Bay waterfront
The coastline of the bay forms the northern edge of the neighbourhood. It is a clean boundary between the dense streets and the open sea.

Natahoyo Map Poster & Print
El Natahoyo is a neighbourhood in the west of Gijón, on the Asturian coast. From above it sits between the city centre and the industrial zones further west. The street pattern is dense and fairly regular, made up of blocks of apartment buildings. It ends on its northern side at the waterfront of the bay, where industrial and port infrastructure once dominated.
The district grew with Gijón's industry. Shipyards and factories along the shore shaped its development, and several of those sites have since been cleared, redeveloped or turned into open space. On a map this shows as a mix of tight residential blocks, larger plots along the water, and rail and road corridors running parallel to the coast.
A Natahoyo map poster shows a part of Gijón that is often overlooked but very characteristic. There is the edge of the bay, the grid of workers' housing, and the traces of an industrial coastline in transition. The composition stays close to the sea, as the district itself always has.

Former industrial sites
Large plots along the shore, once used by shipyards and factories, appear as broad shapes. They contrast with the finer pattern of residential blocks.
Residential grid
Closely spaced apartment blocks and straight streets fill the heart of the district. They give the poster a dense, even texture.
