La carte
New Milton Map Poster & Print
New Milton lies on the Hampshire coast, between the southern edge of the New Forest and the sea. From above, the town spreads across fairly flat ground in a mix of Victorian and later residential streets. A main road runs through the centre, and the railway line to Bournemouth crosses the town with a station close to the high street.
To the south, the district of Barton on Sea sits on eroding clay cliffs overlooking Christchurch Bay. The cliffs are known for their fossils and gave their name to a stage of geological time, the Bartonian. On a clear day there are views across the water to the Isle of Wight and the Needles. To the north, the streets give way to fields and the heath and woodland of the forest.
A New Milton map poster frames the town between those two edges: the coastline across the bottom and the open landscape to the north. The streets in between form a steady, comfortable pattern. It is a quiet English coastal map with plenty of character in its outline.

The line to Bournemouth runs across town with a station near the centre. It is a clear diagonal that helps structure the street pattern.
New Forest edge
North of the town, streets give way to the open heath and woodland of the New Forest, leaving a softer, less detailed area at the top of the composition.
