Railroad through downtown
The rail line cuts straight through the historic centre, just as it did when the town was founded. On the poster it forms a strong line that anchors the old grid.

Norcross Map Poster & Print
Norcross is in Gwinnett County, northeast of Atlanta, and began as a railroad town in the late nineteenth century. Its oldest streets form a compact grid next to the railway line, which still runs through the centre. Around this small historic core, the map changes character. Broad highways, commercial corridors and winding suburban streets spread in every direction as part of greater Atlanta.
The town is named after Jonathan Norcross, a former mayor of Atlanta. Its downtown has kept its older buildings and walkable scale, and it is now a historic district with shops and restaurants. Beyond it, residential neighbourhoods and business parks follow the curving roads of the Piedmont, broken up by creeks and patches of woodland.
A Norcross map poster sets the straight lines of the old railroad town against the looser patterns of modern suburbia. The rail line forms a firm diagonal, the downtown grid gives a clear focus, and the surrounding roads fill the frame with texture. It is a good piece for residents or former residents, and for anyone who likes the history of Southern railroad towns.

Historic downtown grid
A small set of straight, closely spaced streets marks the original town. The pattern stands out sharply against the looser suburban layout around it.
Highway corridors
Major highways and arterial roads pass nearby. They cross the map as wide, bold strokes that connect Norcross to the rest of metro Atlanta.

Pourquoi Norcross
Une carte qui a du sens
Norcross combines a small town you can walk around with the reach of a major metro area. For people who have lived there, the compact downtown beside the tracks is instantly recognisable, and the surrounding roads give the print depth and movement.
