Nova Alvorada do Sul Map Poster & Print
Nova Alvorada do Sul is a young town in Mato Grosso do Sul, in Brazil's Centre-West, on the BR-163 highway south of the state capital, Campo Grande. Like many towns in the region, it was laid out on open land, and the map shows it at once: a regular grid of blocks, wide avenues and right-angled corners, with little of the irregularity of older settlements.
The land around the town is flat to gently rolling and used for cattle and large-scale crops. Sugarcane has become important in the area, supplying mills that make sugar and ethanol. From above, the town's grid sits inside a larger pattern of very large rectangular fields, straight farm roads and strips of native vegetation along the streams.
A Nova Alvorada do Sul map poster is an exercise in order. The tight grid of the town, the long straight line of the highway and the broad geometry of the surrounding fields create a clean, almost architectural image. It suits a modern interior and looks sharp in any of the five styles.

The federal highway passes the town and links it with Campo Grande and the south of the state. It is a long, confident line through the frame.
Field patterns
Large rectangular fields and straight farm roads surround the town. On the map they echo its grid at a much larger scale.
