Ob’ Map Poster
Ob' lies just west of Novosibirsk and takes its name from the great river that runs through the regional capital. From above, the most striking thing is its neighbour: the runways and aprons of Tolmachevo Airport, Novosibirsk's main airport, stretch alongside the town. Their long straight strips dominate the map far more than any single street.
The town itself has the ordered layout typical of Soviet-era planning. Residential blocks are arranged in regular groups, broad roads separate the districts, and the Trans-Siberian railway runs through the area with a station named after the town. Around it, the flat West Siberian landscape opens into fields and patches of birch forest.
