Island settlement
The town occupies an island, so its streets end at the water on every side. This gives the map a clear, contained shape surrounded by open space.

Okrika Map Poster & Print
Okrika sits on an island in the tidal waterways south of Port Harcourt, and on a map there is far more water around it than land. Creeks and river channels curl around the island and branch into narrower inlets that disappear into mangrove. The town's streets fill the island densely and stop abruptly at the shoreline, where the water takes over.
The Okrika people belong to the wider Ijaw community of the Niger Delta and have a long history of fishing and trade on these waterways. Travel between the islands and the mainland has often depended on boats. The ragged waterside edges of the town show how closely daily life here follows the creeks and tides.
On the mainland nearby, the refinery and port area around Port Harcourt link the island to one of Nigeria's most important industrial regions. An Okrika map poster keeps the focus on the island itself, with its compact streets set among the curves of the delta channels and the wide, quiet spaces of wetland beyond.

Delta creeks
Winding tidal channels branch in every direction around Okrika. They form the loose, organic network of waterways that defines this part of the Niger Delta coast.
Mangrove edges
Beyond the built-up area, broad stretches of mangrove and wetland appear almost empty on the map, so the fine lines of the creeks stand out clearly.

Pourquoi Okrika
Une carte qui a du sens
Okrika is home to a close community, and many of its members live elsewhere in Nigeria or abroad. A map of the island is a simple way to keep home in view. You can add a personal title, a family name or date as the subtitle, and the coordinates line.
Blueprint and Noir suit a composition dominated by water. Paper and Sand give a softer tone, and Classic black & white stays neutral. Printed posters ship from partners in more than thirty countries, and a free watermarked preview lets you check the layout first.
