Curving paths, open lawns and large brick buildings form a distinct zone on the map, with a clearly different texture from the ordinary streets around it.

Oxford Map Poster & Print
Oxford lies in the south-west corner of Ohio, close to the Indiana border and north-west of Cincinnati. Its map is shaped by the campus of Miami University, founded in 1809 and one of the oldest public universities in the United States. Campus lawns, paths and large building footprints take up a considerable share of the town, right beside the small commercial centre.
The commercial core, known as Uptown, is a short grid of streets lined with shops and restaurants closely tied to student life. Around it, residential streets extend in a mostly regular pattern, and beyond them the country opens into farmland, creeks and woods, with Hueston Woods State Park and its lake a short drive to the north.
An Oxford map poster reads like a plan of academic life: the geometry of quads and walkways, the tight blocks of Uptown, the neat streets of houses and then the fields. For alumni it becomes a map of their university years, drawn in clean black and white, with every familiar route between dorm, library and classroom in place.

Uptown grid
A compact grid of commercial streets forms the heart of the town, small enough to cross on foot in minutes and instantly recognisable to former students.
Surrounding countryside
Outside the town the map empties into farmland, creeks and woodland, emphasising how self-contained this college town is within its rural setting.
