La carte
Oxnard Map Poster & Print
Oxnard is the largest city in Ventura County, on the broad, flat Oxnard Plain between the Santa Clara River and the Pacific Ocean. The map reads as a series of neat grids and suburban loops, framed by long, straight farm roads that divide the surrounding fields into large rectangles. To the west the coastline runs almost straight, broken by beaches and marina channels.
The city grew up around a sugar beet factory founded by the Oxnard brothers at the end of the nineteenth century. Farming remains central to its identity, especially strawberries, for which the area is widely known. Channel Islands Harbor adds a set of engineered basins and fingers of land along the coast, and the Port of Hueneme lies just to the south.
An Oxnard map poster shows a place where city and farmland sit clearly side by side. Suburban streets, the geometry of the harbour and the grid of fields appear together in one clear composition, and the calm line of the coast anchors the design. It is a portrait of California's working coast rather than its postcard image.

Field grid
Around the city, farm roads divide the plain into large rectangular fields, a quiet geometric pattern that surrounds the built-up area on several sides.
Pacific shoreline
The coast runs long and mostly straight along the western edge, lined with beach neighbourhoods and dunes, giving the poster a strong, simple boundary.

Pourquoi Oxnard
Une carte qui a du sens
Oxnard is home to farming families, Navy personnel from the nearby base and generations of people who grew up between the fields and the beach. A map of the city is a grounded, honest keepsake that pairs well with maps of Ventura or Los Angeles.
Add a title, a subtitle and a date, and edit the coordinates line to suit. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and Sand works well in a coastal home. Download six print sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″, for $9, or order a matte print.
