La carte
Perth Amboy Map Poster & Print
Perth Amboy sits on a point of land in central New Jersey where three bodies of water meet. The Raritan River flows in from the west, Raritan Bay opens to the east, and the narrow Arthur Kill separates the city from Staten Island. On a map, water frames the city on two sides and sets its outline.
The streets form a compact, regular grid that runs down to the shoreline, reflecting one of the oldest planned towns in the state. Perth Amboy was the capital of colonial East Jersey, and the Proprietary House, built in the 1760s as a governor's residence, still stands near the water.
A Perth Amboy map poster shows the long span of the Outerbridge Crossing reaching over the Arthur Kill to Staten Island, railway lines along the edge of town and the fine grid packed between them. It is a small city, but the waterlines give it a striking shape on paper.

Outerbridge Crossing
The cantilever bridge to Staten Island stretches across the Arthur Kill, a thin, confident line leading away from the city toward New York.
Colonial grid
Straight streets laid out in the colonial era run down toward the water. The Proprietary House, a surviving 1760s governor's mansion, stands among them.
