Pforzheim Map Poster & Print
Pforzheim sits where the Enz, Nagold and Würm rivers meet, on the northern edge of the Black Forest. The rivers cut narrow valleys into the wooded hills, and the city follows them: the centre on the valley floor, residential districts climbing the slopes, and forest pressing close on the southern side. From above, the three water lines are easy to trace.
The city is known as the Goldstadt for its long tradition of jewellery and watchmaking, which still defines its identity. It is also where three of the Black Forest's long-distance trails begin, the Westweg, Mittelweg and Ostweg. Much of the centre was destroyed in an air raid in February 1945 and rebuilt in the decades after.
A Pforzheim map poster brings together these layers: the meeting of rivers, the postwar grid in the valley, and the curving streets on the surrounding hills. It is a composition with a clear centre and plenty of movement towards the edges.

Rebuilt centre
After 1945 the inner city was rebuilt with wider streets and postwar blocks. Its layout contrasts with the older, more irregular districts on the slopes around it.
Black Forest edge
Forest reaches close to the city on the south, and the hiking trails begin here. On the poster the woodland appears as open space surrounding the built-up valleys.

Pourquoi Pforzheim
Une carte qui a du sens
Pforzheim means different things to different people: a jeweller's workshop, a starting point for a long walk, a family home in the valley. A map of the city keeps its distinctive river shape on the wall.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a district name or a date, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
