Pingkai Map Poster
Pingkai is the central town of Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, in the far southeast of Chongqing near the borders with Guizhou and Hunan. The area belongs to the Wuling mountain region, and the map makes that obvious: the built-up area occupies a comparatively level basin, with ridges and slopes pressing in from around it.
Inside that basin, the town forms a dense mesh of streets, with newer districts laid out in broader blocks and older sections showing narrower, less regular lanes. Roads leave through the gaps between hills, following valleys rather than straight lines. Small rivers and streams wind through the lower ground, adding curves that contrast with the town's more ordered centre.
