La carte
Pinheiros Map Poster & Print
Pinheiros lies in the north of Espírito Santo, the coastal state between Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. The town sits inland, surrounded by gently rolling country used for pasture and crops, with the Atlantic some distance to the east. From above, its streets form a compact grid, and the map around it is dominated by farmland crossed by rural roads.
The name means pines in Portuguese, a word that recurs across Brazilian place names. Like many towns of the northern Espírito Santo interior, Pinheiros serves the agricultural land around it, and its layout reflects that role: a regular core with commerce and public buildings, and roads leading out to farms and smaller communities.
A Pinheiros map poster renders this simple structure with care: the tight blocks of the town, the main roads leaving it and the open landscape all around. In black and white, the lack of dense detail beyond the edges becomes part of the design, giving the town a clear, almost diagrammatic presence on the page.
