The Sudost River
The river curves past the town with a broad floodplain beside it, forming the most prominent natural line on the map and setting the direction of the old centre.

Pochep Map Poster & Print
Pochep lies in the west of Russia's Bryansk Oblast, on the Sudost River. On a map the river gives the town its main line. Water and floodplain run along one side, and the streets rise away from the banks in a loose, mostly low-rise pattern of houses, gardens and small blocks.
The town goes back several centuries. In the eighteenth century it belonged to some of the most powerful figures of the Russian Empire, first Alexander Menshikov and then the Razumovsky family, and Kirill Razumovsky left a notable church ensemble in the town. That aristocratic past sits alongside the modest, practical layout of a provincial town.
A Pochep map poster shows how closely the settlement follows its river. The Sudost curves along the edge of the frame, the older centre sits near the water, and residential streets thin out into fields. The drawing is spare and even, with the river as its one strong gesture.

Historic core
The oldest streets gather near the river, where the town's eighteenth-century estate history and its churches are concentrated on a compact patch of the plan.
Garden streets
Beyond the centre, long residential streets with private plots spread outward, and their regular strips give the outskirts a fine, textile-like pattern from above.
