Pudupattanam Map Poster & Print
Pudupattanam is a town in Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu, on the Coromandel Coast south of Chennai. It lies close to Kalpakkam, the site of a major nuclear research centre, and the two form a small cluster of settlement along the shore. On the map, the long, gently curving coastline defines the eastern edge, with sandy beach running unbroken for kilometres.
Behind the beach, the land is flat and threaded with lagoons, creeks and the Buckingham Canal, a navigation channel built along this coast in the nineteenth century. The East Coast Road runs parallel to the shore, and village lanes connect it to the waterfront in short perpendicular strokes, a pattern that reads clearly in black and white.
A Pudupattanam map poster is a composition of parallel lines: sea, beach, canal and road, laid side by side from east to west. The structure is simple, and that simplicity is what gives the map its calm. For people from the area, it shows the coast as they know it.

Pourquoi Pudupattanam
Une carte qui a du sens
Coastal towns make striking maps because the sea gives them a natural frame. For families who work at Kalpakkam, or who have lived by this shore for generations, a Pudupattanam poster turns the everyday line of beach and road into something worth hanging.
You can write your own title and subtitle, a family name or an important date for example, and edit the coordinates line. Try the design in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, with a free 900 px preview before you buy.
