Punta Gorda Map Poster & Print
Punta Gorda is the county seat of Charlotte County on Florida's southwest coast. It sits on the south bank of the Peace River, where the river widens into Charlotte Harbor. From above, water shapes nearly every edge of the city: the broad estuary to the north and west, and a dense network of dug canals to the south.
Those canals belong to Punta Gorda Isles and neighbouring waterfront subdivisions, where almost every street backs onto a channel with boat access to the harbor. The historic downtown sits on a small grid near the river, and a harborside walk follows the shoreline. In 2004 Hurricane Charley struck the city directly, and much of it was rebuilt afterward.
A Punta Gorda map poster shows a distinctive composition. The wide harbor fills one side of the sheet, a neat downtown grid lies at the waterline, and the comb-like pattern of canals spreads across the south. Few small cities draw such an intricate relationship between land and water.

Peace River mouth
The river opens into Charlotte Harbor right beside the city. The large expanse of water gives the poster a strong, calm counterweight.
Downtown grid
The small historic core sits on a tidy grid near the waterfront, a compact block of streets set against the looser suburban pattern around it.

Pourquoi Punta Gorda
Une carte qui a du sens
Punta Gorda attracts people who want life on the water: boaters, winter residents, families rebuilding after the storms. A map of those canals and the harbor is a clear reminder of why they came.
Put your canal, street or the year you moved into the title and subtitle, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the waterways especially well. Digital files cost $9, and framed prints are available.
