Rorainópolis Map Poster & Print
Rorainópolis lies in southern Roraima, Brazil's northernmost state, a short distance above the equator. It grew along BR-174, the highway linking Manaus with Boa Vista, and the map still shows that origin. The road runs straight through, and the town unfolds on either side of it like a planned settlement laid onto the forest.
The streets form a regular grid of wide blocks, typical of towns founded through settlement programmes in the Brazilian Amazon. At the edges, the grid gives way to long, narrow clearings of farm lots running back from side roads. This herringbone pattern is one of the most recognisable shapes of the region from above.
A Rorainópolis map poster turns this pioneer geometry into a clean composition: the highway as a central axis, the grid around it, and the forest implied by empty space. It is a young town with a clear shape, and the print works well for anyone who helped build it or grew up here.

Settlement grid
Wide, regular blocks around the highway give the centre an orderly, planned look, very different from older Amazonian river towns.
Fishbone clearings
Side roads branch off the highway with farm lots running back from them. The result is the herringbone pattern familiar from aerial views of the Amazon frontier.

Pourquoi Rorainópolis
Une carte qui a du sens
Many families in Rorainópolis came from other parts of Brazil to settle along this stretch of highway, which makes the town's map a kind of family document. It shows where a new life started, on streets that did not exist a generation or two ago.
Write your own title and subtitle, keep the coordinates as a reminder of how close the equator is, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, and framed prints ship from partners in 30+ countries.
