Sama Map Poster & Print
Sama, often called Sama de Langreo, is the administrative centre of the municipality of Langreo in central Asturias. It lies in the narrow valley of the Nalón River, and its map follows the water. Streets run along both banks, bridges cross at intervals, and the town stretches in a long band wherever the valley floor leaves room.
This was the heart of the Asturian coal basin, and the landscape still shows that history in its railway lines, former mine sites and dense workers' housing. The Langreo railway, opened in the mid-nineteenth century to carry coal toward the coast, was one of the earliest in Spain. A Sama map poster traces this industrial corridor between the hills.
Above the valley the slopes are steep and green, with small villages and farms reached by winding roads. The dense, linear town on the valley floor contrasts with the scattered settlements above, which makes a strong composition. Along the river Sama runs straight into the neighbouring parts of Langreo, so the poster shows a continuous chain of streets rather than an isolated town.

Railway lines
Tracks follow the valley floor through town, a legacy of the coal era that still gives the map long, parallel lines beside the river.
Hillside villages
Steep slopes rise on either side, dotted with small settlements linked by winding roads that contrast with the straight valley routes below.

Pourquoi Sama
Une carte qui a du sens
Families with roots in the Nalón valley often stay attached to its mining towns, and Sama is a natural choice for a wall map. You can add a title such as Sama de Langreo and a subtitle with a name or date, and adjust the coordinates line.
Noir brings out the industrial character, Blueprint the railways, and Paper or Sand the green hillsides, while Classic black & white stays neutral. A free 900 px preview is available before you buy the $9 digital files or a printed poster.
