La carte
Sangzhe Map Poster & Print
Sangzhe is a town in the southeastern part of Chongqing municipality, a region of steep mountains, deep valleys and fast-flowing rivers. Flat land is scarce here, and settlements occupy whatever level ground the terrain allows. From above, the town forms a narrow, elongated shape pressed into a valley, with roads winding along contours rather than running straight.
This part of Chongqing is home to several ethnic communities, including Tujia and Miao, and the landscape of terraced slopes and forested ridges has long shaped how people live and travel. Roads switch back up hillsides and follow river courses, and the map records those constraints clearly in its curving lines.
A Sangzhe map poster is defined by topography. The town's outline follows the valley floor, and the roads leading away from it bend and loop as they climb. It makes for an organic, flowing composition that looks quite unlike the grids of lowland cities, and it holds up well in black and white.

Winding mountain roads
Roads leaving the town curve and switch back as they climb, producing looping lines that reveal the steepness of the surrounding terrain.
Folded ridges
The surrounding mountains appear as open space broken by scattered paths and hamlets, giving the composition a sense of depth around the settled core.

Pourquoi Sangzhe
Une carte qui a du sens
People who grew up in the mountains of southeastern Chongqing often carry a strong attachment to its valleys and roads. A map of Sangzhe is a precise and personal way to keep that landscape in view.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or the year you left, and pick one of five styles. Classic black and white suits the winding roads, while Sand gives the mountains a warmer tone.
