La carte
Schertz Map Poster & Print
Schertz lies on the northeastern side of the San Antonio metropolitan area, where Interstate 35 heads toward Austin. On a map the highway is the dominant line, a broad diagonal with frontage roads and interchanges, and much of the city stretches along it. Away from the interstate the pattern turns suburban, with looping streets, cul-de-sacs and new neighbourhoods filling former farmland.
Cibolo Creek runs along the city's edge, and its wooded corridor appears as a winding band that breaks up the regular blocks. Parks and green belts follow drainage lines, while rail lines and farm roads cut straight across the landscape, remnants of the time when this was a small railroad community among fields rather than a fast-growing suburb.
Neighbouring Joint Base San Antonio–Randolph, one of the region's long-established military installations, gives the area part of its identity, and many residents have ties to it. A Schertz map poster sets the interstate, the creek and the curving subdivisions side by side, showing how a quiet Texas town became part of a much larger metropolitan fabric.

Cibolo Creek
The creek winds along the city's edge, its meandering line and green margins softening the otherwise regular suburban pattern of streets and blocks.
Looping subdivisions
Newer neighbourhoods are laid out in curves, loops and cul-de-sacs, forming rounded, almost leaf-like shapes that render beautifully in fine line.
