La carte
Sihu Map Poster & Print
Sihu lies in northern Jiangsu, on the wide, low plain near Xuzhou where land has been farmed for centuries. From above, the town is a compact grid of streets surrounded by a network of rectangular fields, straight roads and small drainage and irrigation channels that give this landscape its orderly, geometric appearance.
Northern Jiangsu is crossed by canals and rivers, and water management has shaped its towns and villages for a very long time. In Sihu the built area stands out as a denser cluster in the middle of the countryside, with newer, wider roads showing how towns in this region have expanded in recent decades.
A Sihu map poster is a study in straight lines. The regular blocks of the town and the repeated rectangles of the fields create a calm, almost graphic pattern that looks especially striking in the Blueprint or Classic styles. It is a quiet portrait of rural China and the careful order of its farmland.

Geometric farmland
Around the town, straight roads and field boundaries divide the plain into long rectangles, creating a repeating pattern that fills the frame with fine lines.
Water channels
Narrow irrigation and drainage channels run alongside roads and fields, a reminder of how closely life on the north Jiangsu plain is tied to water.
