Springfield Map Poster & Print
Springfield sits on the Springfield Plateau of the Missouri Ozarks and is the third-largest city in the state. Its map is organised on a broad grid of arterial roads, including Glenstone Avenue and Kearney Street. Downtown and Park Central Square lie near the centre, and suburbs spread south across rolling land.
The city calls itself the birthplace of Route 66, because the name for the highway was first proposed here in 1926. Springfield is home to Missouri State University and to the headquarters of Bass Pro Shops, and Park Central Square was the site of the 1865 shootout between Wild Bill Hickok and Davis Tutt.
A Springfield map poster shows a classic Midwestern plan with an Ozarks twist. The straight lines of the grid give it order, and the square forms a small focal point downtown. The university campus, the parks, the curving roads of the southern suburbs and creeks such as Jordan Creek break up the pattern.

Route 66 corridor
The historic alignment of Route 66 crosses the city on its way between Chicago and Los Angeles. Its path through Springfield is a strong line on the map.
Missouri State campus
The university occupies a broad block south of downtown, with quads, sports facilities and residence halls forming a distinctive open area within the grid.

Pourquoi Springfield
Une carte qui a du sens
Springfield draws students, Route 66 travellers and families with deep Ozarks roots. A map poster of the city suits a dorm room, a first apartment or a house where people have lived for decades.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a graduation year, a road trip date or a neighbourhood. Pick Classic black & white or Noir for a crisp look, or Sand and Paper for a warmer feel.
