Syracuse Map Poster & Print
Syracuse sits at the southern end of Onondaga Lake, in the rolling country of central New York. From above, a dense downtown grid is crossed by two interstates, I-81 running north to south and I-690 running east to west. Around that core, residential neighbourhoods spread over the hills, and University Hill rises to the south-east.
The city grew on salt production and on the Erie Canal, which once ran straight through downtown. Its route is now Erie Boulevard, and Clinton Square marks the place where it widened in the centre. Syracuse University dominates the hill above downtown, and the city is known for heavy lake-effect snow.
A Syracuse map poster traces these layers. The shape of the lake sets the upper edge of the frame, the long straight line of Erie Boulevard still cuts through the grid, and highways and rail lines weave between them. It is a clear picture of how canals, industry and education built an American city.

Onondaga Lake
The lake lies north-west of downtown and forms a large, smooth shape at the edge of the map, bordered by parkland and trails along its shore.
University Hill
Syracuse University and the surrounding streets sit on the high ground south-east of downtown. The campus has a looser, open pattern than the grid below.

Pourquoi Syracuse
Une carte qui a du sens
Syracuse is home to a large community of alumni, many of whom left long ago but still follow the Orange. A map of the city makes a thoughtful graduation gift, as well as a reminder of winters and neighbourhoods.
Add a class year, a street name or an address through the title, subtitle and coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Classic black & white suits the snowy winters.
