La carte
Tantou Map Poster & Print
Tantou lies on the coast of Fujian Province, in the Changle area near Fuzhou, not far from where the Min River reaches the sea. From above, the land is low and flat, with a mix of streets, farmland, ponds and small watercourses. The coastline and the estuary are close by and shape the wider landscape.
The Changle area has long been a place of emigration, and many families from these towns have relatives overseas, especially in the United States. That connection has shaped local life, with new houses and roads built alongside older villages. Tantou is part of this wider coastal community around Fuzhou.
A Tantou map poster shows a town where land and water are closely mixed. Streets run between fields and channels, and the edge of the coast and estuary give the composition a strong outer line. The pattern is irregular and detailed, and it looks quite different from inland Chinese towns.

Water channels
Small rivers, canals and ponds are scattered through the area. On the map, they break up the land into irregular pieces between roads and buildings.
Min River estuary
The broad mouth of the Min River lies nearby, with wide water and shifting banks. It gives the wider view of the map a large, open shape.
