Trans-Siberian corridor
The railway runs straight through town with its sidings and yards. It is the backbone of the map and the reason the settlement grew here.

La carte
Tatarsk Map Poster & Print
Tatarsk is in the west of Novosibirsk Oblast, on the Baraba steppe, a very flat region full of small lakes and marshes. The town grew around a station on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and the map still shows that origin. A straight rail corridor runs through town, and the street grid lines up with it on both sides.
Because the land is so flat, nothing interrupts the geometry. The blocks are regular, the streets run straight and the town ends cleanly where fields and wetland begin. The railway gave Tatarsk its reason to exist, and it is still the strongest line on any drawing of the place.
A Tatarsk map poster reads almost like a technical diagram. The long diagonal of the tracks cuts the composition, the grid fills in the neighbourhoods on either side, and small lakes appear as scattered pale shapes in the surrounding steppe. It is a clear, orderly image of a Siberian town built around the railway.

Aligned street grid
The residential blocks follow the direction of the railway in tidy rectangles. On flat steppe land nothing bends them, so the pattern stays unusually regular.
Steppe lakes
Small lakes and wet hollows are scattered across the surrounding plain. They add quiet, irregular shapes to an otherwise very straight-lined composition.

Pourquoi Tatarsk
Une carte qui a du sens
Tatarsk means a lot to railway families and to people who grew up on the Baraba steppe. The map's clean lines also appeal to anyone who likes the order of planned towns and the romance of the Trans-Siberian route.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a surname, a year or the station's position. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the town's engineering-like layout.
