Dense town core
Narrow lanes in the older centre form a tight, irregular pattern, very different from planned grids, reflecting gradual growth over a long period.

Tekkalakote Map Poster & Print
Tekkalakote is a town in Ballari district in northern Karnataka, on the semi-arid plateau of the Deccan. The surrounding land is flat to gently rolling, interrupted by the granite hills and boulder outcrops typical of this part of India. On a map the town appears as a dense cluster of lanes, with roads and field boundaries spreading out across agricultural land.
The area is known to archaeologists for early settlement, and excavations near the town have documented Neolithic and Chalcolithic occupation. That long human presence is part of a wider landscape in the Tungabhadra region, where rocky hills and river valleys have supported farming communities for thousands of years.
A Tekkalakote map poster shows an irregular, closely built core surrounded by open land, with the lines of roads and tanks giving structure to the plain. It is a modest composition, and its value lies in the particular shape of the town rather than in any grand layout.

Granite outcrops
Rocky hills and scattered boulder formations break the surrounding plain, and on the map they appear as open areas where roads bend around the terrain.
Farmland and tanks
Fields and small water tanks surround the town, with rural roads crossing between them, framing the settlement in a wide agricultural landscape.
