Tramandaí Map Poster & Print
Tramandaí is on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, on a narrow strip of land between the Atlantic and a chain of coastal lagoons. On a map, a long, almost perfectly straight beach runs along one side, and the irregular shores of the Tramandaí and Armazém lagoons form the other.
Where the lagoon system reaches the sea, a narrow channel called the barra divides the town from its neighbour, Imbé. Here fishermen and bottlenose dolphins are known to work together, with the dolphins driving fish toward the nets. The town is also a traditional summer destination for families from Porto Alegre.
A Tramandaí map poster shows a regular grid of beach streets squeezed between two very different waterlines. The sea edge is sharp and clean, while the lagoon edge is curved and uneven. The bridge over the barra makes a small but important link across the channel.

Straight Atlantic beach
The coastline runs in a long, nearly straight line along the town, a feature of this part of the southern Brazilian coast.
Lagoon shores
Behind the town, the curved banks of the coastal lagoons contrast strongly with the ocean edge and frame the street grid from inland.
