Türkmengala Map Poster & Print
Türkmengala lies in Mary Province, in the Murgap river oasis of southeastern Turkmenistan, not far from Baýramaly and the ruins of ancient Merv. The town's streets form a modest, largely regular grid, and beyond them the map is dominated by the geometry of irrigation: long canals, feeder channels and the rectangular fields they supply.
Water here comes from the Murgap and from the Karakum Canal, the long Soviet-era waterway that brings water from the Amu Darya westward across the desert. Cotton and wheat are the principal crops of the oasis. Nearby Merv, once one of the great cities of the Silk Road, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws visitors to the region.
A Türkmengala map poster presents a landscape shaped almost entirely by water management. The canals run in straight and gently curving lines, the fields form a patchwork of rectangles, and the town sits within this pattern as a denser node. The result is highly graphic, closer to an architectural drawing than a typical street map.

Field patchwork
Rectangular cotton and wheat fields fill the spaces between canals, creating a repeated geometric pattern that gives the map a strong rhythm.
Town grid
The regular streets of Türkmengala form a compact cluster within the fields, the densest area on a sheet otherwise defined by agriculture.
