Planned street grid
The town's regular blocks and wide avenues show how it was laid out rather than left to grow. On the page, the pattern looks crisp and close to architectural.

Ţurayf Map Poster & Print
Ţurayf lies in the Northern Borders Region of Saudi Arabia, close to the Jordanian frontier, on the high, stony plateau that stretches north towards the Syrian desert. The town began as a pumping station on the Trans-Arabian Pipeline, and it still has the orderly look of a planned settlement. Wide streets cross at right angles, and the blocks stop sharply where the desert begins.
Because the country around it is so open, the town stands out clearly on the map. A few straight roads leave it for the border crossings and the neighbouring towns, getting thinner as they head into the empty landscape. Winters here are among the coldest in the kingdom, which surprises many visitors.
A Ţurayf map poster is a study in geometry: a rectangular grid, a handful of highways heading out to the horizon, and a great deal of blank space. The result is minimal and calm, and it reads almost like a plan drawing.

Roads into the desert
A few long, straight highways leave the town towards the border and other northern towns. They are the only lines crossing the empty ground around the edges.
The open plateau
Most of the sheet is open desert. That emptiness sets off the town's sharp edges and gives the poster a strong, uncluttered feel.
