Uarini Map Poster & Print
Uarini is a small town in the state of Amazonas, in the middle Solimões region of the Brazilian Amazon, not far from Tefé. On a map, water dominates. River channels, oxbow lakes and flooded forest surround the town, and the built area sits on a stretch of higher bank. There are few roads. Most travel here is by boat, and the map reflects that.
The town is widely known for farinha de Uarini, a coarse, granular manioc flour valued across the Amazon and recognised with a geographical indication. Its production shapes the rural areas around town, where small farms clear patches of land near the water. The river level rises and falls through the year, changing the shoreline and the reach of the surrounding lakes.
A Uarini map poster shows a small grid of streets set against a large, complex landscape of water and forest. The contrast is striking in black and white: a compact settlement with long river lines and pale open space around it. It suits people from the region, and anyone interested in how towns in the Amazon relate to their rivers.

Lakes and channels
Oxbow lakes and side channels fill the land around Uarini. They form a web of curving shapes that makes up most of the composition.
Small street grid
The town itself is a small, orderly block of streets. Against the vast surrounding landscape it looks compact and precise at the centre of the map.
