Udine Map Poster & Print
Udine lies on the plain of Friuli in northeastern Italy, between the Alps and the Adriatic. From above, its most striking feature is the ring of avenues that follows the line of the old city walls, enclosing an oval historic centre. Inside, the streets curve around a small hill topped by the castle. Narrow water channels, known as rogge, still run through parts of the city.
Piazza della Libertà, below the castle hill, is often described as the most beautiful Venetian square on the mainland, with its striped loggia and clock tower. Local legend says the hill itself was raised by Attila's soldiers so he could watch Aquileia burn. The city is also known for frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo in its palaces and churches.
A Udine map poster shows a clear, almost diagrammatic city plan: a central hill, rings of streets expanding from it, and radial roads heading out across the plain. The pattern is easy to read at any size. It turns a relatively small city into a strong, balanced composition with the castle at its centre.

Castle hill
The small rise in the centre, with the castle on top, anchors the map. Streets bend around its base and meet at the Venetian square below.
Rogge channels
Thin artificial watercourses run through parts of the city, fine lines alongside the streets that recall how water was once brought into Udine.

Pourquoi Udine
Une carte qui a du sens
Udine appeals to people who like cities with a clear shape and a strong centre. For anyone who has lived or studied in Friuli, the rings and the castle hill are instantly recognisable, making the map a subtle and personal piece.
You can set a title, a subtitle such as the year you moved there, and the coordinates. Paper and Sand suit the warm stone of the old town, while Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint bring out the geometry of the rings.
