Vezirköprü Map Poster & Print
Vezirköprü lies in the interior of Samsun Province, on the uplands between the Black Sea coast and central Anatolia. On a map, it is a compact town whose streets spread from an older centre over the gently rolling ground, with roads leading out across farmland, orchards and wooded hills toward the surrounding villages.
The town takes its name, 'the vizier's bridge', from Köprülü Mehmed Pasha, the seventeenth-century Ottoman grand vizier associated with this area and founder of the Köprülü family of statesmen. Forested highlands, including the Kunduz forests, lie within the district, and the Kızılırmak river and its reservoirs pass not far to the east.
A Vezirköprü map poster shows an Anatolian market town on the scale that people actually know it: a dense centre, radiating roads and open countryside all around. It is a thoughtful print for families from the district, including many who moved to the coast or to Istanbul, and for readers of Ottoman history.

Radiating roads
Routes toward Samsun, Havza and the surrounding villages leave the centre in several directions, giving the town a star-like outline on a wider print.
Upland countryside
Beyond the streets, rolling farmland and wooded hills fill the frame, part of the green interior that lies behind the Black Sea coast.
